Law & Order SVU

Monday was almost ruined if it wasn't for this. I mean, it rained all day, my co-workers jockin me, for the first time I wanted punch my boss in the face...you know, all in all, a whack day.
So I'm walking home all down-and-out until I saw my block sprinkled in orange flyers about parking restrictions. When I got in the door I found this:
How bad ass, Law & Order SVU is shooting on my block all day Wednesday! Now, I'm biased to Criminal Intent because Bobby Gorin is my baby daddy, but SVU? I can digg it. I hope to idle around long enough to see Ice-T.

Celeb Sightings.

Okay, so....I seriously hate trying to do shit with famous people. I always love it in theory, but when I see them I get all nervous, and like.... it gets awkward. Morgs, K.beau and myself went to brunch in Harlem because Morgs boyfriend was in town. When we left we saw Paul Mooney (a local Harlemite) and spoke to him like we were old friends! Hopefully there will be more sitings in the future. (

Christina Hendricks Open Letter to Men.

Christina Hendricks is the talented and gorgeous actress who plays Joan on Mad Men. (She is also in one of my *favorite* Lifetime Movies, The Hunger Point-- I see you, Frannie!)

Anyways, Christina is in the newest issue of Esquire Magazine (that's where the picture is from, btw) And I guess recently she had a conversation with Ryan Seacrest, that included this open letter to men. These are the things that she thinks all men need to know. Have a look...thoughts?

 The Letter:

We love your body. If we're in love with you, we love your body. Your potbelly, everything.
- Speaking of your body, you don't understand the power of your own smell. Any woman who is currently with a man is with him partly because she loves the way he smells.
- We remember forever what you say about the bodies of other women. When you mention in passing that a certain woman is attractive — your comment goes into a steel box and it stays there forever.
- We also remember everything you say about our bodies, be it good or bad. Doesn't matter if it's a compliment.
- Never complain about our friends — even if we do.
- Remember what we like.
- We want you to order Scotch. It's the most impressive drink order.
- Stand up, open a door, offer a jacket. We talk about it with our friends after you do it.
- No shorts that go below the knee.
- Also, no tank tops. In public at least. A tank top is underwear.
- No man should be on Facebook. It's an invasion of everyone's privacy.
- You don't know this, but when we come back from a date, we feel awkward about that transition from our cute outfit into sexy lingerie. We don't know how to do this gracefully.
- Panties is a wonderful word. When did you stop saying "panties"? It's sexy. Say it more.
- The men who constantly stare at our breasts are never the men we're attracted to.
- There are better words than beautiful. Radiant, enchanting, smoldering, intoxicating, charming, fetching.
- Marriage changes very little. The only things that will get a married man laid that won't get a single man laid are adultery and whores.

Spotted Again.

This time K.beau (my library road dog) spotted the now infamous CU balls.
I'm going to find the owner of that wireless network and shake their hand.

Butler Library Chronicles: day 4... or 5. I don't Know.

Hey there friends.
I'm still holding myself captive in the library, trying to get through finals. Thought I'd hit you with the quick update:

Picture 1) me and my boo, Butler... doesn't he looks so sexy and handsome in the twilight?
Picture 2) Cola, red bull, powerade, water. All that caffeine is going to put me into a 'roid rage if I'm not careful...
Picture 3) This is what I get for studying in the Undergrad Library.... some freshman-ass-behavior right there.

The good news is, the end is near. I'll be back to the good stuff later. But right now, me, and my greasiness need to get back to this bitch of a finale paper (due tomorrow at 2pm)

Butler Library Chronicles: Wireless Balls.

Today was day three at Butler Lib. I was listening to Pandora  and it kept timing out. So it gives me this message about how my internet connection isn't strong enough. OK, first of all, what? second of all... I'm in the undergraduate reading room (fail) third of all, I just don't like whats going on. So I check the connection, and I AM connected to the schools wireless. But then I look at the locked network under it.

*dead*. Also.... who the hell is "fabulous Muscles"?? Sir, can you please not name your wireless network that? Anyways, the ball sack/cock thing made me laugh and sort of reminded me of this story.

Alright that's it from the Library... more later. I'm not free til the 29th.

Favorite Married Friends.

So, I have been wanting to post about my Favorite Married Friends DW&CDW for a while... but every time I start one it turns in to a fucking creepy tribute like they are dead and being immortalized on my blog. They aren't dead and like... I didn't like how I was writing about them so I kept deleting them. However, today after having the BBM chat (thats listed below) with CDW i thought, "this is the kinda DW&CDW shennanigans thats gonna earn them a label in SeshintheCity. (I don't know if yall knew... but like, being a "label" is a HUGE deal... so.... #justsayin... kidding. sort of.)

A little back story: The-Artist-Formerly-Known-As-CD married DW in November and became CDW. and I am only mildly obsessed with them. For them to be married and young and not annoying and corny and fucking whack and never go out or do anything fun is awesome. Like, I have had some of my hardest rages in life with those two. Also, like... DW is sort of a wild man, and CDW is a wild chick, but in a low-key way, so they are a perfect balance. And I appreciate that because I hate people who get married (or really who get into relationships for that matter) and turn into douche bag losers, up each others cracks all day. Whoa, I just got on an unintended mini rant, but I guess that's just a reflection of how much they don't suck??

But, I digress. Anyways... my little chat with CDW just made me miss my favorite married friends and NC as a whole.

Back to my studies.... *dead*

CDW: Sesh...
Sesh: Hahahahahahah CDW! Heyyy
Sesh: Send me pictures hahaha hahaha
CDW: That's what he said but I wouldn't let him. I said we could post them on your blog as "what Sesh's NOT wearing"
Sesh : Hahahahahahahaaha you guys are my fav
CDW: You too Sesh!

Butler Library Chronicles.

This is where I will be for the next 2 weeks. Home sweet home.... Makes me miss the days of undergrad and nights at DH Hill.
Last time I was in the library I saw an old man browsing nasty porn at 12:23am. So, I'm assuming more shit will go down over the next 2 weeks... And I plan to document the BLC (butler library chronicles, obv.) For your voyeuristic pleasure.

Wiz Khalifa's much anticipated mixtape is finally out. Wiz is super talented, freshman rapper--- yall, if you're not up on him yet, download Kush and OJ, roll one up (if you're 4/20 friendly... and if not, you can pretend. With tracks like "Waken Baken, Wiz goes in hard enough for all of us), and Enjoy.

Rude Boy.

This has been an interesting period for me and music lately. There are artist I used to hate that I now love. The short list:

  • Alicia Keys
  • Rihanna
  • Beyonce

Well, I believe in second chances, and I'd like to say... this Rihanna post Chris Brown is a boss. I have been all about her recent singles (Hard, Russian Roulette,) but Rude Boy.... Kills. It. and also, thank you, Rihanna for the video:

I knew We Were on to Something.

I knew Tie-Dye was coming back, dammit.

Look at your girl martha (along with amazing designers,  Jack McCullough and Lazaro Hernandez from Proenza Schouler) doing some sort of neo-tie-dying technique (K.Beau... take note... we have Sunday Crafts to plan!)

Sunday Crafts.

With the left-over egg dye from Easter, K. Beau and I decided we should keep the crafts going and went for tie-dye. It was a little make-shift as we clearly were using egg dye and we didn't have a couple of the recommended ingredients, etc. Whatever though, it was the fun that matters. I sort of forgot how nice it is to actually do stuff sometimes. School and life get so busy that I often don't make time to just enjoy something like a craft or a day at the park. I swear that's changing though. I have a feeling there will be a lot more tie-dye in the future.

Summer Plans.

The weather is FINALLY nice up here! the sunshine is so refreshing and I absolutely love being in the city as spring rolls in.

I've got about a month of school left. The last day of class is April 29th and my internship ends on the 7th of May. It's insane to think that I have completed almost 1/2 of my graduate program! It's been a freakin hard year. The internship was so much work, demanding on me mentally and emotionally--- but I truly loved the work I did this year. Next year my internship selections are all direct clinical practice with adults of young adults. I am looking at community clinics and university settings where I will be the primary therapist. Really exciting and I can't wait to find out where I'll be next year.

Something else very exciting is that my internship offered me a job working for them for the summer. I'm so happy because summer jobs are hard to come by, and I definitely need to like, pay my rent, eat and breathe all summer. So, starting June 1 I will work 4 days a week as a case manager (and getting paid-- holla) I'm gonna be off on Fridays, so I can still have something that resembles a summer as well.

All of my friends will be in the city for the summer (minus Kimmy, who will be in Nicaragua). So I am so thrilled for all of the summer activites and adventures. We've got concerts and trips lined up... and at the very mininum, drinking at restaurants in their outside seating will make me plenty happy. hahaha

So, question. Summer clothing at my job is going to be tricky. For me I am a dress wearer all summer because I hate being all sweaty and gross. I obviously cannot wear that stuff with my clients, though. (on office days I can wear a little more dressy stuff).

I was thinking about getting a pair of Tom's Shoes. We have to wear closed toes, for the obvious safety reasons, but I don't want to wear super hot sneakers all summer. Do any of you have a pair? How do you like them??

Quote of the Day.

Gen Art Movie Premiere.

On Friday night, K. beau, Kim, and I are going to a movie premiere! GenArt holds the 7 night event in various cities, and New York City's starts this week.

The film we are seeing is  Elektra Luxx. It looks pretty good, with some legit actors and actresses (Alicia Silverstone (Cher from Clueless) , Emmanuelle Chirqu ( Sloan from Entourage, Justin Kirk (Andy from Weeds). And I'm really excited.

Even better, the movie ticket for the premiere also includes a subscription to NYmag, plus entree and open bar for the after party. On Friday night it will be at Hudson Terrace. I'll be sure to take a million pictures!
