Heyyyy party people.
I know it's been a long time. My life has been hectic and I am owned by NYC and my MSW program. However, I have gotten many emails/text/face-to-face interventions re:my lack of blog maintenance. So, Ok.... back on and poppin.

Still Breathing.
This is partially to blame for where I've been all semester. My new internship is incredible, but I have never worked harder. (Hard to believe after crawling in the woods last year.) The difference? I am wearing my new hat (and it's still so strange to say) of "Clinician." I have clients, and we do therapy, and I see a couple for counseling... and I work a shift at the psychiatric Emergency Room at NY Presbyterian Hospital (Cornell) every Friday afternoon. I absolutely love what I'm doing, but.... I'm tired. Because then, there is school... and like, the library.
Anyways, I just caught up on the blogs of SM, LMCW, Akili ,Mo'C, Bex & Grace..... and I tell you what, I miss you guys, and I miss my blog! So, we'll see if I can get back in the groove.

Can't stop; won't stop.
"Can't stop; won't Stop." was my facebook "about me" for he better part of college. And like.... that just how I do.
I work too much, and too hard. I do too much in general. going out, raging, not sleeping, raging. raging. working. homeless people stuff. stress. raging....
OK. I've said it. It's difficult to admit because I didn't think it was a problem. Until literally it was a problem.
This was Wednesday Night, after 72 straight hours of a new-asshole-ripping migraine.
At St. Luke's, getting my life together. Thank you to Morgs, K.Beau, SM, and pretty much everybody else that was like "go to the Doctor. fool."
So. I took the day off work (!!!) and forewent 3 concerts this week. Trying to be more balanced, sleep more, drink more (water.) and not be such a can't-stop-won't-stop warrior anymore.
also for you 2birdsoneblog lovers out there....:
Sorr about the bag.

Where you at?
Oh Heyyyy. There's SM and RSJ. There's SM and RSJ and "me." There's SM grabbing my invisible right tit b/c she's grabby like that. Besides the obvious.... I'm missing. And there is the theme of my blog this summer: Where the fuck you at, SeshInTheCity? Where the fuck you at?
From the way my blog looks, I'm dead. From the way my posts look, I'm miserable. But The truth is, my summer has been the shit so far and like.... this is New York (and Brooklyn, and Baltimore, and Jersey....) and I'm 24 and I am like.....in the prime of my life, so I've sucked at posting lately.
The plan: I'm gonna start posting again. And I wanna post all of the stuff from June because there were some sick ass weekends in there... so there will be some past and some present, and the usual fashion/music/other mess that I like to throw in there from time to time. So like.... if any one still reads this (preesh) I'm gonna post so much you're sick of me. So. What upppp I'm back.

Soundtrack to My Life: Pursuit of Happiness.
Ya'll I'm back. I wasn't even sure if this return would happen because my job is crazy right now and I'm doing 12 hour days and getting 5 hours of sleep--- but this is honestly the best time of my life.
I'll hit ya'll with the updater later on, but I was actually inspired to return to SitC (you like that abbrev, don't you?) Because of my boo, Kid Cudi. It's no secret I like him, his music, his whole steez. So, tonight I was checking his blog out and he had posted this amazing cover of his song (any one from my current top 10) Pursuit of Happiness.
This girl is called Lissie. I don't know anything else about her, except I need to see her. live.
And, you should check out the original. The song is the illest, the video is dope, & MGMT and Ratatat are on the track so, you know....

Butler Library Chronicles: day 4... or 5. I don't Know.
Hey there friends.
I'm still holding myself captive in the library, trying to get through finals. Thought I'd hit you with the quick update:
Picture 1) me and my boo, Butler... doesn't he looks so sexy and handsome in the twilight?
Picture 2) Cola, red bull, powerade, water. All that caffeine is going to put me into a 'roid rage if I'm not careful...
Picture 3) This is what I get for studying in the Undergrad Library.... some freshman-ass-behavior right there.
The good news is, the end is near. I'll be back to the good stuff later. But right now, me, and my greasiness need to get back to this bitch of a finale paper (due tomorrow at 2pm)

Summer Plans.
The weather is FINALLY nice up here! the sunshine is so refreshing and I absolutely love being in the city as spring rolls in.
I've got about a month of school left. The last day of class is April 29th and my internship ends on the 7th of May. It's insane to think that I have completed almost 1/2 of my graduate program! It's been a freakin hard year. The internship was so much work, demanding on me mentally and emotionally--- but I truly loved the work I did this year. Next year my internship selections are all direct clinical practice with adults of young adults. I am looking at community clinics and university settings where I will be the primary therapist. Really exciting and I can't wait to find out where I'll be next year.
Something else very exciting is that my internship offered me a job working for them for the summer. I'm so happy because summer jobs are hard to come by, and I definitely need to like, pay my rent, eat and breathe all summer. So, starting June 1 I will work 4 days a week as a case manager (and getting paid-- holla) I'm gonna be off on Fridays, so I can still have something that resembles a summer as well.
All of my friends will be in the city for the summer (minus Kimmy, who will be in Nicaragua). So I am so thrilled for all of the summer activites and adventures. We've got concerts and trips lined up... and at the very mininum, drinking at restaurants in their outside seating will make me plenty happy. hahaha
So, question. Summer clothing at my job is going to be tricky. For me I am a dress wearer all summer because I hate being all sweaty and gross. I obviously cannot wear that stuff with my clients, though. (on office days I can wear a little more dressy stuff).
I was thinking about getting a pair of Tom's Shoes. We have to wear closed toes, for the obvious safety reasons, but I don't want to wear super hot sneakers all summer. Do any of you have a pair? How do you like them??

Glitter in the Air.
This is Pink performing 'Glitter in the Air' at the Grammys. Never mind the obvious talent she has to be able to sing while doing the acrobatics.... this song is amazing. I'm so obsessed with it right now. I cannot stop playing it. like this is worse than my Alicia Keys OD earlier in the year.
Yall. I have some insane shit to share, and I am honoring requests (Akili, I got your tweets) .... I'll get to typing, promise.

Just when I got my blogging back on point, I go MIA. Damn.
I'm not even gonna go through the list of excuses, but... In my defense, I just let a shitload of crops die on my farmville. Yup, I haven't even tended to my farm...
Stay tuned friends, I'll be back from this brief hiatus soon!

I know, I know.
I keep promising to post. Unfortunately I've got a bit of writer's block. I mean, that's not true, I've got plenty to say just am having a hard time sitting down and doing it. I've even tried from my blackberry.... so you know it's serious when I can't even finish it on my phone. ha.
I'm doing a little too much right now. Finals are over tomorrow, I just got all these new clients, it's the holidays, my wonderful family is in the city, my wonderful friends make me happy everyday.
I'll get there.... thanks for hanging on.
OK. Full disclosure: I had to stop things with my banker on Monday. No big drama or anybody done wrong, he's still one of the best boys I know. He's real sad. And I mean, I'm not jumping for joy about it... but whatever, it is what it is. I really like him, but I really love me.
I have close to zero interest in like, explaining it now, but probably here now in a few I'll have a nice life lesson or little pearl. But for right now, I've got nothin.

I am a bad blogger.
I'm sorry! I'm terrible! I really have missed writing so much, and the more time that passes the more I'm like "meh, I'm not going to post that story, old news now" but no. I'm going to pull it together. I'm in the last week of the semester with tons of papers and crap due. I am underground right now, so, I vow that in my study breaks I will finish and publish the 8+ drafts saved on my computer, as well as update the real deal too.
If I still have any readers, thanks for your patience! and you can that StatelyLady for that final "wtf, why won't you post" comment.... It's the kick in the ass I needed.
more soon. I promise...

back from the dead.
Midterms are finally fucking over. Wow. big bomb there, but I had to drop it because that's just how crucial things were for the past couple of weeks.
I just got home from my first visit to NC. My apologies to everyone I wanted to see and didn't get to. The point of the trip was specifically to go to my friends wedding, and that became my priority over the weekend-- and rightfully so, as it was the most amazing wedding I have been to. CD (or I guess she should be CDW now...) and her boo DW are 2 of my favorite people on earth, everyone knows that. So, no worries, I'll be home for 5 full nights at the end of the month and promise to make the rounds.
I plan to post about the wedding as well as some new lil "features" or whatever--- that I thought of during the times I was procrastinating from my work.

I got 99 problems
It's mid-term time.
I'm so freakin sleepy all the time.
I have papers that I keep hoping will write themselves.
My caseload just doubled at CAB.
I can't stop working on my farmville.
Or watching Dexter.
I'm ready to graduate.
and blah blah blah.
....but a bitch ain't one.

Busy as eff
I have been insanely busy. Like when field placement started my life went into overdrive. I honestly don't have any true free time and the time I do use as "free" should really be reading time, or doing some of the seemingly endless errands. I have also become a bit of a freak about cleaning. I think it's because of the hardwood floors. On top of that, I kind of have to go to bed by 10:00-11:00 on 3 nights of the week because I gotta get up at like 5:30.... but hello, thats giving up a lot of valuable hours. I am working on balancing it all out, and creating a manageable schedule... but I'm not there yet.
I do have a nice update about my field placement, and I will get better about the posting as soon as things settle.
In other exciting news: SM is coming to visit me on Friday! We've been apart for a month, and thats a long time for us! So I'm thrilled to have wifey in the city, I plan to show her a good time, and she gets to meet the banker.... should be interesting....

We will call him "the banker"
What is my life right now?!
oh my gossshhh.
So around 4 I get a text from the banker seeing if I am free for a quick drink. He explains that he is going to New Jersey for a football game on Thursday, and even though we have plans for Friday, he is anxious and would love to get together both today (Wednesday) and Fri.
Meanwhile, on campus the school of social work is having a cocktail thing (for whatever reason) and E had a date tonight as well with a guy she met downtown early last week--- needless to say, I was feeling a little overwhelmed and conflicted. E assures me that this is NOT the prom, she doesn't need me to see her off and give me the a-OK to go on with The banker.
I end up agreeing to meet him (but first went by my new friends Kim and Kellys apt to borrow eye liner, eye shadow and perfume) before meeting him at this bar call The Heights which between 111th and 112th and Broadway. The banker is coming straight from work so he is still in a suit and he looks adorable! We go in, he orders us drinks (margaritas, tequila shots) and dinner and we hang and talk for 3 hours (wtfffff). The convo was totally natural and I let him PDA me at the table (and ya'll know I don't do that shit). He thinks I'm so Southern and its fascinating , and all I can think is " I'm so not a southern girl." Which made me realize that southern girls would fare well in terms of meeting boys in the city. They seem to love the complexities that is the Southern Girl DNA.
He is such a perfect gentleman and so much EXACTLY what I'm looking for... like, omg. It's insane. He took me home, walked me inside of my first locked door and you know... hhaha ahhhhh!!! The night ended perfectly!
So, for the curious: hes 29. went to college in Long Island, was born and raised in the upper westside. He's Puerto Rican (can I get a yum?!) and about 6ft tall.
We still have our date set for Friday, where we're planning on dinner and a movie at the theatre down by where I stay. The cutest thing is that tonight he kept asking about my friends, family, college and hometown life, as if he could sense the important roll all of those people and places play for me. And in addition, he was so looking forward to watching ACC football and curious about March Madness and UNC basketball. Um.... look at him making future plans and being all up in my grill, trying to know my life.
It's so exciting because for the first time in a very long time I am going to let myself be open and willing to go with it, the whole having a crush and acting on it. Needless to say, I 'm totally smitten. I'll keep you posted on the banker. def.
Also, don't get all pumped about this wide open post. I'm twisted off drinks and loving the fact that I can DUI it on foot. So, just know, if I wasn't drinking, ya'll wouldn't get privy to any of this-- -especially not via a midnight posting!
hhaha the end!
