 I haven't been shopping. Like.... at all this summer and I want to die. I have seriously been to busy/poor/poor/poor to shop and it's taking a toll on me. I am so sick of my entire closet and I want to pull it all out and start fresh. Anyways.... Some things that make me die over at Urban Outfitters...:

That means it's time for me to shop. I've done some pre-browsing and thrown some things in my "shopping bag" so I can check out as soon as there is some real money in my account. I've always been a huge fan of beading and studs (when it's done right). The lace tights and patchwork liquid legs--- I die for them

Little known fact: I have 4 tattoos and 10 piercings. I love em. I really freakin love tattoos and piercings (this is like a AA/NA announcement, hahaha)
I got my first tattoo right after I tuned 18, and the other 3 followed over the next 5 years. The last one I got with SM sometime before I moved. Point is... I'm getting that itch again. I just really wanna get inked on or pierced. real bad. Truth is, I'm way too old for any other piercings. I mean, my nose stud is staying in forever, obv, but what am I gonna do? get my eyebrow or lip done? at 23? bitch, please. I have some space on my left ear... but maybe shouldn't OD.

So, I'm planning the next tattoo, probably gonna get it done on the LES with SM and Morgs after New Years eve.... or maybe I'll let my buddies over at Glenn's do me again. I don't wanna cheat on them--loyalty is a big deal!

Who will stop the rain?

When it rains in New York, it friggin just rains. Not like the nice rains at home where its like 80 thousand degrees and the sky breaks for 5 minutes and then for the rest of the day it's too humid to breathe. Here, it becomes day time, and it's all gray. And awkwardly humid, and smelly (idk...) and then it just rains.

The part that blows hardest is that you kind of can't stop. Like there is still shit to do and places to get to. Obviously this is my transition into yet another "what should I buy when I have money (on friday!!) segment:

A solid rainboot is paramount to not having a shitty day when it's raining. The rain trench and umbrella are handled, but, for me to the boots have been an outlier.

I spoke with BKE right before I left to get her thoughts on them since she'd just spent the summer as a Brooklyn wandering, downtown loving, denim cut off wearing, hipster/scenster intern for my favorite mag on earth, W. BKE said that the Hunter rainboots are pretty much gold standard, and I def like them. But then I saw these Michael Kors ones.... and I don't know what to do.

They are more or less the same price. I feel like the Hunters have more long term capabilities, better sole, etc. And like, honestly? I'm not buying a car. Not sure why it's 7am and I am acting like it's a life or death decision between a Camry and a Corolla.

Truth is, I have hung out with The Banker every day since our first date last Wednesday and I am doing all I can to not be an asshole and gush like a stupid girl. So I'm trying to find other Fun and Exciting Topics (Insert peppy excited voice!!) So that I don't reveal how un Sesh-like your formal stone cold ice queen has become....

wtf?? I leave the south for a city where you definately need to keep your balls, and I'm all running through the field of flowers like a loser... hahaha. Whatever, suffice to say, The Banker is a good one. I win.

Here are the damn boots... so much for my guise!

Today is my first day of class! I am actually very nervous. It's so strange being a student again, I am in the process of packing my school bag and I'm all like "err... what even goes in here?!" I still need to buy books, a paper planner (even though I love blackberry, I still need that paper planner for like back up. obsessive, but oh well) and a file for my papers, etc. Sounds like a little trip to Staples is in order for the weekend.

Also in order for this weekend is a MAJOR H&M trip and some online shopping. You guys. its 67 degrees for the high today-- this is not dress weather. and I seriously only own dresses. So my new thing is shopping for tops. I'm excited because I have been here for 3 weeks and haven't been able to afford to go shopping--- graduate school is total poverty, jesus.

Night before the wedding dresses

So, I've decided to go with the first dress for the November Wedding (I'm pretty sure at least). I needed something for the friday night before both weddings. That will mean a night downtown in Charlotte and a night downtown in Raleigh. I am really liking both of these options as they are a little trendy, a little sexy, and still quite conservative. I don't usually like strapless dresses, but this one may be alright.

Good ole' Grace. She linked me to this shirt. However... Ya'll know I was digging for the exact one. And I found it! They are made by some emo scene-queen named Jac Vanek. I think she is best known for dating Ryan Ross (ex guitarist for Panic at the Disco) Regardless, I am for sure buying that shirt. here is the link to her online store. Her bracelets (see above) are quite popular among The Scene, but I think you had to be born in 1992 or later to wear them... Anyways. look out for me and my shirt while I'm running around New York being sorry about partying.

Crazy Outfits

I've described my style pretty extensively I think. The one area I have yet to elaborate on is my weekend/night life clothing choices. In a few words. In general I wear black. I like the my hemlines shorter and my necklines higher. Sequins, beading, (not embezzling or a ton of glitter) I appreciate heels, boots, and tights. I like jackets/vest/blazers, belts, chunky necklaces, dark eyeliner, pink lips, oversized clutch. However, living in NC and going out predominately in Chapel Hill/Durham/ Raleigh, made it a little impossible for me to wear what I wanted without people saying "um that is a crazy outfit." Now, I'm not insecure, I like what I like... but I just can't really stand people sweating me, or my shit. So, that is a definite pro of moving to New York. I can wear all my crazy get ups, buy a lot of even crazier stuff and be as bad as I wanna be. I'm excited.

I want: shoe edition

My style has been pretty consistent through out my life. I don't know, I'm not the type who has all these "this is who I am"revelations at different stages in my life. So I am excited to see how my style will manifest itself in New York.

I like to layer, which is a positive for living in the North. I am a big fan of button down shirts, cardigans, corduroy pants, and plain tees. Because I am also a minimalist, I like my detail to come in the form of, ribbons, lace, pretty buttons, details (like cut outs or stitching). Also, I seem to stick with neutrals, but as of late have found myself buying jewel toned things which I love.

I absolutely love my Chocolate brown Uggs, and really want them in black. When I was in NYC in June, it rained so hard and all I kept thinking was "note to self: get some tall rain boots" I really like this pair. The black boots and the snakeskin Tory Burch flats are obvious wants. I hope to add these to my collection, ASAP.
